Smoky Mountains Spring Vacation – Waterfalls
Check out one of the gorgeous waterfalls in the Smokies:
With so many to chose from we can help you make an educated decision. Laurel Falls which are named after an evergreen shrub which blooms along the trail and near the falls in May. This 2.6 mile hike is rewarded with a beautiful waterfall at the top of the trail. The trail does have some steep drops so proceed carefully. The trail is paved all the way to the Falls so if you have small children with you for the hike, a stroller will be a good idea. Great views and lots of fun.
Abrams Falls
Abrams Falls is located in Cades Cove and is only about 20 feet high. Large volumes of water that pour from the fall will be well worth the hike. A Lovely pool of water can be found at the base of the fall. The waterfall and creek get there name from a Cherokee chief whose village once stood several miles downstream.
Another favorite of ours is Cades Cove. Yes, the cove is a great place to visit any time of the year, but Spring is special.
