People, places, and things that touch the lives of all of us and our friends and neighbors
May 26th, 2012
Next weekend is the 30th anniversary of Highland Manor Inn! Sandy and Don started building in December, 1981 and the first guests stayed the night of June 2nd, just in time for the World’s Fair in Knoxville that summer.
Sandy says that the best aspect of running the motel is the different folks that she meets. Sharing her love of the Smokies is another blessing of running the motel. Now… there ARE some challenges. According to Sandy being available 24/7 for whatever needs our guests might have is not easy. It’s also hard to balance the all-consuming work of the motel with taking time for a personal life.
As to what sets the Highland Manor Inn apart from other lodging spots in the area Sandy replies that, “God has given us this opportunity to serve our guests and provide a clean comfortable haven for their vacation.” That kind of concern and personal service bring folks back to Highland Manor time and time again.
Thirty years of serving Townsend visitors is an amazing record and we would like to thank you, our guests, for your loyalty as you celebrate this anniversary with us. Here’s to the next thirty! We hope to see you often….Jennifer
