People, places, and things that touch the lives of all of us and our friends and neighbors

Well, it’s a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon in Townsend. The temperature is about 65 degrees and the daffodils are dancing in the breeze. We have several groups and families celebrating spring break at Highland Manor Inn this week, and it looks like they will have great weather. The waterfalls are especially dramatic right now with all of the rain we have had!
I was thinking about next Saturday, when the Smoky Mountain Fiber Festival will be here in Townsend. We will hear bleating sheep as they are sheared and Border Collies herding sheep with short, sharp barks - right down at the Visitor Center. If you have never watched this once common sight, it is fascinating. Also, although we will not hear them, there will be alpacas to pet, and demonstrations of spinning, weaving, and lots of other old-fashioned crafts going on down there – and all for free. Consider a trip to Highland Manor Inn to welcome spring here in Townsend - we’d love to see you!….Jennifer
